We recently had a 2 day Women Empowerment workshop in Mbarara.
The workshop was under the theme
“ Enhancing Entrepreneurship and leadership capacity of Female Educators for Quality Education”.
The workshop was well attended with over 80 participants that included the entire female branch leadership of Southwestern Region.
The purpose of the workshop was to enhance female teachers’ capacity in leadership, entrepreneurship and to be able to provide quality Education to learners.
The workshop had the following topics;
1. Leadership in the context of Gender and Women empowerment
2. Human Rights, Labour Laws, Women rights, Marriage, property rights and succession
3. Gender Concepts, stereotypes and School Related Gender-based Violence
4. Menstrual Health and Hygiene management
5. Women empowerment: Gender, Entrepreneurship and professionalism


The workshop was officially opened by the City Education Officer of Mbarara City and closed by The National Chairperson, UNATU
