Who we are
Uganda National Teachers’ Union is a Teachers’ Labour Union that was formed as a merger of Uganda National Union of Teachers (UNUT) and Uganda Teachers Association (UTA). UNATU was registered in 2003 under the Trade Union Act of 1971 now 2006 to promote and protect the Social, Economic, intellectual and professional interests of its members/ teachers.
UNATU is also a formally recognized Public Service Union under the Public Service Negotiating, Consultative and Disputes Settlement Machinery, Act 2008.
