UNATU Inspires Leadership at Busoga Youth Teachers Workshop

On the 9th of August, 2024, the Civil Service College, Jinja City hosted a dynamic youth training workshop, organized by the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) for Busoga Region. A total of 134 enthusiastic youth teachers attended the event, which aimed at fostering leadership, advocating for professional development, and addressing key issues affecting young educators in the region.

Central Region Meeting Enhances UNATU-HR Partnership

Today, the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) convened a stakeholders meeting at Teachers House in Kampala City. The meeting saw the participation of district Human Resource Officers (HROs) from all districts of the Central region, along with various UNATU leaders including branch chairpersons from the region, the Regional Chair Central, Vice Regional Chair, the National Secretary for Women Affairs, the General Secretary, and the Regional Coordinator.

UNATU-CTF Transform Education as 160 Teachers conclude In-Service Teacher Training

Kampala, Uganda – 21st July 2024 – The two-week INSET training programme, which ran from 8th to 19th July 2024, has successfully concluded, with 160 teachers from the districts of Lira, Dokolo, Kitgum, and Nwoya receiving comprehensive training. The training, held at Gulu Core PTC in Gulu City and Loro Core PTC in Oyam District, focused on enhancing Instructional Strategies, Leadership in Education, Learning Styles, Classroom Management, Gender Equality, and Strengthening the Union.
The programme welcomed 79 participants at Gulu Core PTC and 81 participants at Loro Core PTC. These educators engaged in sessions designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to improve educational outcomes in their respective schools.

UNATU Leads Performance Management Training for Kaliro Headteachers

UNATU’s Kaliro branch recently organized a significant Headteachers Performance Management Workshop at Musana Vocational High School. Held on July 20, 2024, the event was facilitated by the District Education Officer (DEO), the District Inspector of Schools (DIS), the District Human Resources (HR) Officer, and the General Secretary of UNATU. Additionally, the Busoga Region Coordinator and the UNATU Branch Executive, led by the Chairperson of Kaliro, were in attendance. The workshop saw a substantial turnout of headteachers from various schools in the region.
