HOIMA, 24th August, 2024 — The Bunyoro Sub-Region Youth Training Meeting, organized by the Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU), took place at Kolping Hotel, Hoima, bringing together 53 youth teachers from across the sub-region. This event aimed to foster leadership potential, collaboration, and unity among young educators. The meeting featured notable attendees, including the Regional Chairperson Western, the Regional Secretary for Planning and Organising, the General Secretary of UNATU, the Branch Chairpersons, the Regional Administrator Western, and a guest youth speaker from Kyenjojo District.

The Western Sub-Regional Stakeholders Meeting, organized by the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU), took place on 23rd August 2024 at Kolping Hotel in Hoima City. The meeting brought together 7 Human Resource Officers (HROs) from districts within the sub-region, 7 Branch Chairpersons, the General Secretary of UNATU, the Regional chairperson Western, the Regional Administrator for Bunyoro Sub-Region, and the Regional Secretary for Planning and Organizing. This annual meeting serves as a strategic platform for discussing and resolving issues related to the welfare and management of teachers in the region.

On 22nd August 2024, Western Region stakeholders convened at Fort View Hotel, Fortportal City, for a critical meeting that brought together key players in the education sector. The event attracted 13 Human Resource Officers (HROs) from all districts within the Western Region, 14 UNATU Branch Chairpersons from Western Region, and high-level representatives from UNATU, including the General Secretary, the Regional Chairperson, the Vice Regional Chairperson, the Simameni Project Officer Western, and the Regional Coordinator.

Fort Portal, Western Region, 21st August 2024 – The Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) hosted an impactful meeting that brought together 132 youth teachers from all districts of the Western Region. The gathering aimed to empower and engage the future teacher leaders.

Mbarara City, 20th August 2024 – The Human Resource Stakeholders’ meeting, held at the Social Catholic Center in Mbarara City, gathered key figures to address pressing issues affecting teachers in the South Western Region. The discussions, spearheaded by Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) leaders and Human Resource Officers (HROs), centered on enhancing teacher welfare, bridging communication gaps, and strengthening strategic partnerships.

On 19th August 2024, the Teachers House in Mbarara City hosted a youth training workshop organized by the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU).

The second and final day of the Gender and Women Empowerment workshop for female leaders in the Western Region took place on the 18th of August, 2024, at Fort Breeze Hotel in Fort Portal City. Building on the momentum from the first day, the workshop continued to focus on enhancing the entrepreneurship and leadership capacity of female educators.

Today, 12th August 2024, the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU), in partnership with FNV, commenced a five-day Data Entry training workshop at Teachers House. The workshop, aimed at training data entrants who will enter UNATU’s membership data on the database. The workshop was opened by the Human Resource Officer, Abaru Pamela.
