Day 2 ICT Training under WNCB in Moroto a sucess

Moroto, Uganda — October 11, 2024

The final day of the Work No Child Business (WNCB) ICT training in Moroto brought new digital skills to educators from Rupa and Tapac sub-counties, equipping them to navigate essential online platforms and modern communication tools. Hosted at Commercial Hall, the training was conducted by UNATU’s ICT Assistant, Etabu Emmanuel, who guided participants through practical sessions designed to enhance their proficiency with online resources and communication technology.

The day’s sessions began with an introduction to internet use on computers and smartphones. Participants learned to navigate Google, explore the UNATU website, and search for educational information. The facilitator then led a step-by-step guide on sending emails, a new experience for many, allowing them to express their gratitude by sending messages to the facilitators and the Regional Coordinator. This practical exposure boosted participants’ confidence in utilizing digital tools to foster efficient communication.

In an additional session, the participants explored Zoom, gaining hands-on experience in joining meetings, managing meeting controls, and engaging in chat. The comprehensive training allowed participants to experience a live demonstration call, where they practiced online etiquette and learned to share information effectively. For many, it was a first exposure to virtual meetings, and they expressed appreciation for this new skill.

To conclude the two-day training, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Moroto commended participants for their commitment and hard work  urging them to leverage their newly acquired skills to streamline communication within their schools and with district offices.
