The Uganda National Teachers’ Union has launched the EQUIP 1000 Digital Skills Training Programme in collaboration with Uniek Ideas Consulting, with an onboarding session aimed at preparing selected members to begin a three-month online learning journey.
The Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU), in collaboration with Uniek Ideas Consulting, has launched the EQUIP 1000 Digital Skills Training Programme, an online learning initiative designed to strengthen the digital skills of 1,000 UNATU members.
The programme was officially launched through onboarding sessions held on 1st and 2nd August 2026, attended by participants selected to take part in the training.
The sessions, led by UNATU and facilitated by a team from Uniek Ideas Consulting in Nigeria, introduced members to the learning platform and guided them on how to access courses, navigate the system, and complete the required learning activities.
Participants were also shown how to enrol in courses, watch video lectures, complete quizzes, and download certificates upon successful completion of the course requirements.
The training programme will run for a period of three months, during which participants are expected to complete all assigned modules and assessments within the stipulated timeline.
General Secretary Urges Participants to Take Training Seriously
In his message to participants, the UNATU General Secretary, Mr Baguma Filbert, welcomed members to the programme and encouraged them to take the training seriously.
He reminded participants that the opportunity was limited to 1,000 members, making it essential for those selected to remain committed and complete the training. He noted that the programme presents a valuable opportunity for members to improve their digital competence and strengthen their ability to use technology more effectively in their professional work.
Mr Baguma urged participants to make full use of the opportunity and to carefully follow the guidance provided during onboarding and throughout the three-month training period.
Communication Updates and Programme Outlook
Participants were also encouraged to follow official updates shared through the WhatsApp group, which will continue to serve as a key communication channel for training reminders, platform guidance, participant support, and other official programme information.
The launch of the EQUIP 1000 Digital Skills Training Programme marks another important step in UNATU’s efforts to support members in adapting to the growing role of digital tools in professional work, communication, and learning.
Through its collaboration with Uniek Ideas Consulting, UNATU aims to equip selected members with practical digital skills that will enhance their personal growth and professional effectiveness.
We wish all participants a successful and enriching learning journey as they progress through the course and complete the programme.
